The Ambient Devices WF7D01 7-Day Wireless Weather Forecaster automatically and continuously displays weather and forecast data from AccuWeather for any one of 150 locations in the United States. As easy to use as a radio, just plug it in - no PC, internet connection, or backyard sensors are required. The wireless receiver is built into the device and you don't have to pay any service fees.
The WF7D01 7-Day Weather Forecaster monitors current temperature and trend, wind speed and direction, UV index, pollen and air qualiity alerts, as well as the day's forecast weather conditions (using both easy-to-read icons and text) and expected high/low temperatures. The WF7D01 also features forecast weather conditions and high/low temperatures for the following six days, which automatically updates as weather systems change. When the AC adapter is being used, the display's backlight changes colors according to the current temperature reading using the standard weather map color-temperature spectrum as shown below. The changing backlight color concept allows you to quickly glance at the forecaster and get an idea of the outside temperature without seeing the actual reading.
The WF7D01 includes a highly accurate network time clock that never needs setting and automatically adjusts for time zone and daylight savings. The device can be used on a table or desk, or mounted on a wall using a single screw.
Ambient Devices weather forecasters are operational only within the United States (including Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico) and limited to the 150 cities/suburbs covered by the Ambient Information Network, which runs over existing paging networks (rural area coverage is unlikely).
