The Davis Vantage Pro2 series of weather stations are the most sophisticated, affordable personal weather stations available today. The wireless standard model Davis Instruments Vantage Pro2 (Davis Weather 6153) with Fan Aspirated Radiation Shield includes indoor/outdoor temperature and humidity, barometric pressure, wind speed and direction, and rainfall data; with a rapid measurement update cycle starting at every 2.5 seconds for wind! In addition, the standard VP2 keeps an extensive on-board history of minimum and maximum readings. Wireless Vantage Pro2 units have a "line of sight" range between sensors and console of 1000 feet, with an "effective" range under most conditions of 300-500 feet; a much greater distance than other professional units.

The fan aspirated version is recommended if temperature accuracy is a concern and the unit will be installed in a location where the temperature is regularly above 90 degrees F with little or no moving air. The patented, solar-powered, 24-hour fan aspirated radiation shield combines active and passive aspiration to minimize this effect.
