Now you can turn heaters, fans, and other devices on or off using the Davis Weather 6544 WeatherLink for Alarm Output and your Vantage Pro2. The software walks you through the choices quickly and easily—yet the possibilities are almost unlimited! For each of four outputs, you can enter up to eight different weather parameters. Enter threshold values for each, select from nine different test conditions, and link the entries together as you choose. The connector block provides the interface between your weather station and an electrical device. For high-power devices, you may also need to add electrical relays (not supplied by Davis).
As with all WeatherLink products, WeatherLink for Alarm Output includes the following features:
-
Transfer data to your PC whenever you like or at a predefined storage interval of 1, 5, 10, 15, 30, 60, or 120 minutes. Data logger can store up to six months' worth of data, depending on the chosen storage interval.
-
See current conditions at a glance on the instant weather bulletin, perform detailed analysis, or graph data on a daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly basis. Data can be exported to most popular spreadsheet, database, and word processing programs.
-
Create your own weather web site or post weather conditions to a LAN. Use the included HTML templates or design your own. Add graphs, text, lines, or scrolling ticker tapes, and upload other files (such as images from a webcam) along with your weather data. Requires Internet Explorer 4 or above for weather web site features.
-
Expanded reporting includes heating degree days, cooling degree days, and fuel-on-demand. Evapotranspiration, leaf wetness, soil moisture, soil temperature, sunburn risk for different skin types, and solar energy are all available with the use of optional sensors.
-
Share your weather data by participating in the Citizen Weather Observer Program (CWOP) and the GLOBE Program.
