The Midland 74-250 Portable All Hazards Weather Alert Radio provides continuous 24-hour-a-day monitoring for hazardous condition alerts broadcast by your local National
Weather Service office. The NWR/SAME
(Specific Area Message Encoding) feature allows you to hear only messages concerning the areas you select. You no longer have to be awakened to hear of a
situation miles from your home that will not affect you.
Utilizing the latest technology to help keep you and your family informed, the 74-250C weather alert radio receives SAME encoded messages transmitted by National Weather Service
warning of dangerous weather conditions and other hazards. These SAME codes
designate which counties or parts of counties are affected by the individual message. When the
alert feature is activated, the receiver remains silent in standby mode. As SAME coded messages are
received for the area you've designated, the receiver automatically activates to warn you of those hazardous conditions.
