The Spectrum ThunderBolt® Storm Chaser BL Storm & Lightning Detector with BackLit Display is designed by Spectrum as a "portable mobility package," ideal for use while on the road. This personal, hand-held weather monitor utilizes self-contained proprietary software and electronic technology to detect and track the motion of thunderstorms. It analyzes lightning activity within storm cells and supercells, and is capable of identifying the presence of squall lines, which can occur in conjunction with thunderstorm activity. Storms are detected and analyzed within 75 miles of the user's location. ThunderBolt's advanced proprietary technology converts data from the intensity of electro-magnetic field emissions of lightning activity within a storm cell into digital signals. The signals are then fed into a microprocessor for analysis. The unit tracks and alerts the user through text messages on its BackLit Liquid Crystal Display (LCD), red and green Light Emitting Diode (LED), audible tone warnings, and ThunderBolt Emblem warning light. The ThunderBolt® Storm Chaser BL package includes a custom fitted hard-sided field carrying case, soft carry pouch, 120-volt AC adapter, 12-volt vehicle power adapter, and Duracell PROCELL battery.
