Weather Radios
NOAA Weather Radio All Hazards (NWR) is a nationwide network of weather alert radio stations broadcasting continuous weather information directly from a nearby National Weather Service office (coverage maps). NWR broadcasts National Weather Service warnings, watches, forecasts and other hazard information 24 hours a day. NWR also broadcasts warning and other critical information for all types of hazards, including natural, environmental, and public safety alerts.
NOAA Weather Radio All Hazards requires a special radio receiver capable of picking up the signal. The broadcasts cannot be heard on a simple AM/FM radio receiver. Public alert radios can be lifesavers when severe weather threatens your area and during civil emergencies, providing you with immediate information about the life-threatening event. Our weather alert radios from Oregon Scientific include SAME (Specific Area Message Encoding) technology allowing you to filter out distant warning broadcasts and monitor only alerts for your local area! And with the push of one button, you can hear current weather conditions and forecasts for your area, any time of day or night.
