OVERVIEW

The Davis Instruments Tipping Spoon Replacement Kit 7345-425 is for Vantage Pro2 weather stations and integrated sensor suites that have the original tipping bucket rain collector assembly. Tipping spoon technology increases accuracy and precision for measuring rainfall. The new spoon increases the accuracy from ±4% to ±3%.

Compatible with the following:

  • Vantage Pro2 Weather Stations: 6152, 6152C, 6153, 6162, 6162C & 6163
  • Vantage Pro2 Sensor Suites: 6322, 6322C, 6323, 6327, 6327C & 6328

I was having a problems with my weather station (Davis Vantage Pro2) recording the wrong rain amounts, I ordered this tipping spoon replacement kit, Installed it in about 15 minutes. And my problem was fixed. I also noticed that it measures rain much more accurate.

Easy installation once I found the how-to video on the Davis website, otherwise I would of had a difficult time removing the old tip cup. Great being able to measure rainfall again.

Kit was tricky to install. The video showed simple screwdriver popout of old tipping spoon assembly. Not so. My unit did not want to part with the old taping spoon and one of the hold downs broke off. I had to very carefully maneuver the old unit out of the 3 remaining brackets. Also disassembly is needed to get the cable to the mother board, Otherwise unit works great! Data agrees within .01" with my CoCoRaHS rain gauge. This is perfect matching considering a digital readout vs. analog.
