Note: Davis Instruments recommends that the batteries for the Integrated Sensor Suite with 24-hour fan radiation be replaced and the shield be cleaned while replacing the fan/motor assembly.

I did an overhaul of my Davis Vantage 2 Pro and found the fan to be frozen up after a dozen years of service. This was an exact replacement that dropped in, plugged in and ran as expected.

My Vantage Pro2 is on a Gulf of Mexico beach where salt in the air quickly degraded metals. The aspirating fan in my station was making noises indicating that bearing surfaces had degraded after about 18 months. I will examine the replaced fan for ways to lubricate the motor shaft.

The fan and batteries were simple to install and works perfectly. Much cheaper than buying direct from Davis. It shipped on time and was well protected. Davis states these need to be replaced biannually.

The product arrived on time and was exactly what I ordered. The only thing I wish was that I took pictures while disassembling it. Without the pictures I had some difficulty in reassembling, but that has nothing to do with the product, just words to the wiser. Overall I was extremely happy with the entire process and my station is back and operational and clean. Highly recommend!
