Conant 8.5" Large Dial Thermometer

We replaced an old (probably 20 years old or more) thermometer of the same type.

Thermometer is a good thermometer; it could have larger and/or darker numbers but overall we are satisfied.

We ordered this thermometer for our balcony. It is easy to read the temp from inside. The color matches our decor and looks upscale. The reading is accurate and did not require callibration. We installed flush mount - didn't use the arm. Ordering was easy. Delivery was prompt.

I bought this thermometer because it is adjustable. Some reviews say you have to take the thermometer apart to adjust it. That is not true. When you look through the larger hole in the back of the thermometer, there is a slotted metal bracket that holds the thermometer mechanism in place. Just stick a flat screwdriver in that slot and rotate the enter mechanism. No need to manipulate the small brass screw that is obscured by the bracket. Overall very happy with the thermometer.

Perfect outside our kitchen window and the right size for viewing from anywhere in the room.

This thermometer has both F and C and has an elegant look appropriate for any location.Not too big; not too small. The suspension bar is bendable, allowing for optimum viewing angle whereever installed.

I purchased this to replace a similar 20 year old one that stopped working. This is perfect to place outside and easily read the numbers from inside the house. Very happy with this purchase.

The thermometer is enclosed in the cheapest thinnest possible brass, or is it faux brass? Feels very light and flimsy. The arm for attaching it to a surface is a very weak flexi piece of very thin gold colored metal, that if you twang the thermometer on it it swings back and forth for a few minutes. The bezel is made of glass? Plastic? the whole case is so thin and the arm is thin like flashing material,is it metal, brass, plastic? If a bird flew into it or a kid hit it with a ball the thing would be dented and the arm bent,maybe unit smashed on wall as the arm sprung and bent. Was expecting at least a brass ring of substantial thickness and the support arm to be sturdy, maybe a real shatter proof no reflective bezel. Not a $100 item. However given the hours I spent looking at thousands of plastic junk and dumb designs I guess I will settle for for this. On a futile search for non plastic not digital not wifi or bluetooth things.

Nice looking thermometer. Large, easy to read face. 2 metric screws were missing from the package.
