OVERVIEW
This unique chime is tuned to the notes of the "First Call," heard at the start of horse races. The rearing horse silhouette is cut from a single piece of stainless steel that has been treated with a flamed finish, producing wonderful burnished, coppery colors. Humans began domesticating horses around 4000 BC. Today we interact with horses in a number of ways: riding them for entertainment, using them as therapy animals, as farm workers, and, of course, racing them for sport. "And they're off" - the familiar bugle call that signals the start of a horse race serves as the scale to which this chime is musically-tuned. |
